Oxford Teacher’s Academy – Iran
|
Collaboration between Safir & Eshtiagh Noor Publishing Co.
The Oxford Teacher’s Academy is a collaborative program between Oxford University
Department of Continuing Education and Oxford University Press. It was established
more than 10 years ago to provide English Language teachers worldwide with short,
practical courses to further their professional development so as to provide teachers
with classroom activities & materials based on sound methodological principles.
These training courses are interactive workshops designed to engage participants
in discussion and examine their own teaching experiences as well as providing them
with practical ideas for immediate use in their classroom.
Due to the increasing success and popularity of these services and as to ensure
its continuing performance regional devisions have been made. The CAMENA (Central
Asia-Middle East-North Africa) regional office, situated in Turkey, is responsible
for the supervision and mentorship of the OTA courses held in these mentioned areas.
From all the existing Language Institute currently in Iran in the field of ELT,
Safir English Language Academy was chosen, due to its achievements in teaching,
as OTA’s representative.
The first OTA course in Safir was held from 18th to 20th of October by Ms. Teresa
Doguelli, who as well as having 30 years experience in TESOL is also the appointed
CAMENA supervisor.
These courses are held in a specially equipped OTA classroom in Safir Head office
designed to provide the participants with all the necessary opportunities needed
to experience a dynamic class.
Should such courses be held for specific institutes or organizations, it's syllabus
would take into account the needs of these places. The rest of our OTA courses will
be based on current ELT topics.
Participants are finally awarded a certificate of attendance issued by Oxford University
after the completion of the course.
